Carrefour France and Glovo, the Spanish on-demand express delivery service, have agreed a strategic partnership in four countries with exclusive rights in France. Previously, Glovo offered its services to Groupe Casino’s Franprix, a partnership which can be expected to end following this deal.
Home delivery services will now be offered by Carrefour in Paris, France; Sevilla and Valencia in Spain; Milan and Rome in Italy, and Buenos Aires in Argentina. The partnership offers a 30-minute rapid fulfilment for urban consumers seven days a week. The new partnership tallies with the retailer’s objective of developing a unique omnichannel model and becoming a leader in food eCommerce.
Customers can choose from a wide range of 2,500 SKUs, varying from fresh produce to household goods, on the Glovo platform. Glovo couriers will collect orders prepared in Carrefour Market, Carrefour City and Express stores and deliver items within half an hour of the order being placed via bicycle or scooter.
